Practical Essence of Gita

'The Essence of Gita' which I have explained in the previous post is the popular and widely accepted one. Apart from that I have come up with another 'essence' from 'THE GITA.' I would like to call it 'The Practical Essence of Gita' which is a list of guidelines I picked up from The Gita and put into practice.

'The Essence of Gita' is easy to understand and accept, theoretically. But to have a mind set that it suggests, we need a lot of practice. May be even years together. What we need to do is not versatile. It is going to be the same action day by day. A mere repetition of simple steps which I list as the 'Practical essence of Gita.'

They are,
1. Surrender
2. Remembering God
3. Dedication to God
4. Selfless Work
4. Chanting
5. Meditation
6. Healthy Breathing
7. Healthy Eating

I will explain each of them in detail in the forthcoming posts.

The beauty of the Geeta is that it gives solution to every kind of individual. Each solution is completely logical and fits in well with the temprament of the individual.

People who are intellectual by nature are adviced to follow the Gynana Yoga whereby one can realise that the whole universe is nothing but the lord. So, one sees the oneness in everything with true knowledge.

People who are passionate by nature are asked to follow Bhakti Yoga wherein one develops intense devotion and love for the Lord. One remembers the lord at all times and has a strong urge to disolve into the lotus feet of the Lord.

People who by nature like to work are adviced to follow Karma Yoga and work selflessly without attachment to the fruits of work. This essentially is about surrendering our efforts to the Lord.

All the 3 paths ultimately leads one to the same destination. Through Karma yoga one can attain knowledge and devotion. Through Gynana yoga one can attain devotion and surrendering mindset.

It is good to see you attempting to convert the Holy Gita into a set of simple steps to be followed.

People should also make an effort to understand the essense behind each step so that they develop a confidence and conviction to follow the same. Sustainability of effort will be achieved if the mind is convinced of the rationale behind the effort.

sincerely
