இல்வாழ்வான் என்பான் இயல்புடைய மூவர்க்கும்
நல்லாற்றின் நின்ற துணை.

The householder suppports
The government, business people and beggars
in the right path

துறந்தார்க்கும் துவ்வா தவர்க்கும் இறந்தார்க்கும்
இல்வாழ்வான் என்பான் துணை.

The householder supports
Renunciates, poor and the dead

தென்புலத்தார் தெய்வம் விருந்தோக்கல் தானென்றாங்கு
ஐம்புலத்தாறு ஓம்பல் தலை.

The house holder takes care of the five
The dead who live in the south,
God, guests, relatives and Himself

பழியஞ்சிப் பாத்தூண் உடைத்தாயின் வாழ்க்கை
வழியெஞ்சல் எஞ்ஞான்றும் இல்.

While making money care for blame
While spending share it with others
That kind of life will never go wrong

அன்பும் அறனும் உடைத்தாயின் இல்வாழ்க்கை
பண்பும் பயனும் அது. 

In household if there is love and virtue
That will be the quality and use of household

அறத்தாற்றின் இல்வாழ்க்கை ஆற்றின் புறத்தாற்றின்
போஒய்ப் பெறுவ தெவன்?

When you live life by virtue
What is that you get
by going against virtue

இயல்பினான் இல்வாழ்க்கை வாழ்பவன் என்பான்
முயல்வாருள் எல்லாம் தலை.

Among all those who try
one who is householder by nature
He is the best

ஆற்றின் ஒழுக்கி அறனிழுக்கா இல்வாழ்க்கை
நோற்பாரின் நோன்மை உடைத்து. 

The life of a householder by virtue
has the same effect of
a life of penance

அறன் எனப் பட்டதே இல்வாழ்க்கை அஃதும்
பிறன்பழிப்ப தில்லாயின் நன்று.

The householder's life is virtue
it's even better
when you don't blame others

வையத்துள் வாழ்வாங்கு வாழ்பவன் வான்உறையும்
தெய்வத்துள் வைக்கப் படும்.

In this earth when one lives such life of virtue
Will be kept among Gods who live in the sky
